Scripps Ranch was originally a 400-acre ranch owned by newspaper publisher E.W. Scripps. Today, it is a unique, family-oriented, residential community of approximately 20,000 residents. Offering scenic views, it’s tucked away among thousands of acres of rolling hills and groves of eucalyptus and pine trees.
Lake Miramar
Lake Miramar is a reservoir located in the Scripps Miramar Ranch community. Water flowing south to the reservoir originates from both the Colorado River Aqueduct and the California Aqueduct. Lake Miramar is a popular recreation site. Activities include boating, fishing, picnicking, and the use of an over five-mile long trail wrapping around the lake. There are 18 barbecues and 48 picnic tables for family outings.
